Ju Lian Antique Chinese Painting  This listing is for a rare, original painting by the important Chinese artist Ju Lian (1828-1904).<br>Ju Lian (style name Guquan and assumed name Geshanlaoren ), was a younger brother of Ju Chao (also a famous painter).     He is known for his paintings of flowers, birds, grass and insects. He was one of the forerunners of the “Lingnan School”, a school of innovative painters of Chinese traditional paintings.<br>The frame is about 36.8 x 58.7 cm.<br>The visible painting is about 31.5 x 53.5 cm.<br>Signed lower right with the artist's seal. It is painted on silk.<br>There is are some holes in the silk, mostly on the lower edge.   There are also some water marks on the lower edge.   Condition as shown.<br>The frame dates from the 1920's-30's.    The condition it is now, is the same condition it was in when it was framed in the 1920's-30's.     It was framed in Vancouver, Canada.   The framing company label is on the back - The Art Emporium (note the old phone number SEY.832).   ie, this painting was done quite some time prior to 1920/30, in the second half of the 1800's.<br>Guaranteed to be 100% authentic.   It looks better in person, than shown in the pictures.
