100% natural pink and red coral necklace with sterling silver findings<br>Red & Pink Coral necklace<br>This necklace was made from 100% natural untreated coral. The light pink or Angel skin coral as it is often called comes from the same area in the Mediterranean as does the red coral. The difference is the amount of carotene found in each individual animal, the more carotene the more red it becomes. If you look closely at these tubes of coral you will notice some slight variance in colour, a good indication that it has not been dyed. Also, you will notice parallel striations in the coral, a sure sign it is not plastic or "block" coral. A simple test with acetone and a Q tip will tell also tell you if it is dyed.<br>This is not a hand rolled Santo Domingo necklace where all the bead sizes are close to being equal, you will find quite a difference in size and shape with these coral beads as opposed to a necklace made in the pueblo, of course the price reflects that as well, and this is not in the thousand dollar or more range. These beads average 4 x 6mm. They are finished with traditional olive shell heishi and caped with sterling silver cones, wire twist and lobster claw clasp.
